2nd GCC Media Forum Begins in Kuwait


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah opened here today the Second Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Media Forum.
Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiuddin Khoja, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and the GCC Information ministers attended the opening session.
In his speech before the participants, Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah said a honorary doctorate degree granted recently by Al-Azhar University to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud invites us to feel proud of the GCC leaders and their historical attitudes and visions.
The forum will have three sessions, the first session will discuss various topics regarding the GCC media's credibility and freedom of the press, highlighting that the forum will shed light on common issues among the GCC states.
The second session will focus on youth and sports, coinciding with the Arabian Gulf Cup in Riyadh along with inviting famous GCC athletes to the forum.
The closing session will address GCC women and the challenged they face in media, especially that GCC women achieved leading positions in media.
