The officers’ efforts have resulted in the arrest of a variety of out-of-town drug dealers attempting to saturate Stamford with drugs. Arrests have been made of dealers from New Fairfield Greenwich Stratford Danbury Waterbury and New York City.

Officers Connelly and Phillips work day in and day out to handle the narcotics investigations in Stamford. They track down and arrest street-level dealers up to investigating and finding the source of drugs - often from well-organized drug operations outside the United States. Occasionally the sheer size of the operation dictates that the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit work hand-in-hand with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

“Every day presents new challenges and opportunities” said Officer Connelly.  “It keeps you moving and keeps you thinking.  I’m honored that I work shoulder to shoulder with an amazingly talented group of men and women who are passionate about keeping this city safe.”

“Working within the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit is never dull” said Officer Phillips.  “Our job is to thwart truly dangerous and threatening criminals who are trying to flood our city with drugs and guns. From your average street dealer to massive organizations we’ve seen it all. I’m lucky to have my fellow officers next to me and to do the work I do.”

“I am proud to have Officer Connelly and Officer Phillips working alongside me and our fellow officers to keep this city as safe as it can be” said Todd Lobraico President of the Stamford Police Association.  “Stamford is consistently named as one of the safest cities in the United States because we have deeply committed officers like Michael Connolly and Brendan Phillips.”

The officers will receive their awards at the Stamford Police Association Annual Awards Dinner on Friday evening October 24 at Giovanni’s in Darien.  Comedian Michael “Motts” Pelazza will be the MC.
