ISIL gains more control of Kobane, captures cultural ctr


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) seized a cultural center in city of Ain-Al-Arab (Kobane) in northern Syrian, and were targeting various areas using booby-trapped vehicles, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Monday.

In a statement, the Observatory said ISIL fighters detonated a vehicle near a bus station northwest of Kobane, the third of its kind in the city, noting that the first two targeted security areas east of the city.

The statement noted that ISIL members also controlled the new cultural center in the city.

Coalition forces continued to bomb the area and clashes continue between Kurdish forces and ISIL.
