(MENAFNEditorial) The jump rope national champion is Danielle Askowitz a junior from Palmetto High School.
Askowitz has been participating in the Junior Olympics for the past eight years. At 14 she won the Gold Medal by performing in three events in the individual competition. The first two events were judged on the number of jumps made within a minute. The final event is a minute and fifteen second choreographed routine using different jump rope tricks and techniques.
Aside from competing The Jumping Beiz team member also serves as captain of the club that received 66 medals in this summer's Junior Olympics. Under the coaching of Askowitz the team has multiple national champions. She also choreographed a routine for the event that earned her a bronze medal as well.
The club not only participates in competitions but also does demonstrations at workshops schools and sporting events to promote jump rope as a sport and a total body workout. Therefore jump rope competitors share new tricks and techniques as part of the spirit of camaraderie.
"I like teaching kids about the sport of jump rope" says Askowitz. "I've been jumping for 10 years and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon."
