Bahrain's GDP grows 5.6 percent in Q2


(MENAFN) Bahrain announced that its GDP grew by 5.6 percent in the April-June period of 2014, compared to the same period last year, QNA reported.

The second quarter's GDP growth reached 3.2 percent compared to the January-March period of this year, with the total GDP growth of this year expected to reach about 3.7 percent.

The oil and non-oil sectors contributed greatly to this growth in the GDP, with the non-oil sector growing by 4.7percent compared to the same period last year, while growing 3.0 percent when compared to the first quarter of this year.

Meanwhile, the oil sector registered a 9.3 percent growth compared to the corresponding period of last year and by 4.1 percent when compared to the January-June period of 2014.
