QSE Index Plunges 3% as all 43 Companies Close Lower


(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index plunged 414.84 points (-3%) Sunday as all listed companies closed lower on resumption of trading after Eid Al Adha holidays.

The bourse closed at 13,426.06 points today down from 13,830.90 points logged October 2 before the Eid holidays started.

The trading value dropped to QR 552.740 Million from QR 615.899 Million registered October 2.

The trading volume rose to 11,362,166 shares from 5,862 transactions compared to 8,794,303 shares from 4,440 transactions on October 2.

The market capitalization decreased to QR 723.278 Billion from QR 742.895 Billion registered October 2.

Indices of all sectors ended in the red zone with telecom sector, down -4.32%, leading the losers. Ooredoo share dropped -4.36% when it closed at QR 127.10 and Vodafone Qatar was down -4.20% to QR 20.55.

Real estate sector was the next big loser, down -3.79%. Banks and financial services index lost -2.65%when it closed at 3,329.95 points.

Industries index dropped -2.52% when it closed at 4,470.94 points. Insurance index was down -1.61% to 4,050.88 points while consumer goods and services dropped -1.83% when it closed at 7,434.34 points.

Masraf Al Rayan dropped -4.66% to QR 53.20 from the previous close of QR 55.80. Qatar International Islamic Bank dropped -3.46% to QR 86.50 from the previous QR 89.60. Qatar Islamic Bank was down -3.06% to QR 111. Qatar National Bank (QNB) share dropped -2.45% when it closed at QR 202.80, down QR 5.10.

From consumer goods and services sector, Medicare Group (QSE: MCGS) led the losers, down -4.74% when its share closed at QR 124.50 from the previous QR 130.70.
