Kuwait- Parliament speaker arrives in Geneva for IPU conf.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim arrived in Geneva on top of a delegation of the caucus on Saturday to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union's (IPU) conference, due on October 12-16.

The Kuwaiti MPs, received at the airport by Kuwait's Ambassador to Switzerland Bader Al-Tunaib and Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN and International organizations Jamal Al-Ghunaim, would participate in elections of the IPU President and deputies.

They will also participate in a general debate about gender equality and ending violence against women.

The Kuwaiti lawmakers will attend meetings by Gulf, Arab and Islamic parliaments.
