Egyptian FM, Russian Mideast envoy discuss terrorism, Gaza reconstruction


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with visiting Russian Middle East envoy Mikhail Bogdanov Saturday on international war against terrorism and other regional issues of mutual interest.

Shoukry briefed Bogdanov, who is also Deputy Foreign Minister, on Egypt's endeavors to resume indirect negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians, enforcing the ceasefire between the two sides, and the Gaza reconstruction conference that would be held in Cairo tomorrow, foreign ministry spokesman Bader Abdulaati said in a statement.

The two officials discussed coordination of international efforts to crack down on terrorist organizations, he said, in addition to the importance of reaching a political solution for the conflict in Syria.

The developments in Iraq and Libya were also discussed, said Abdulaati.

Shoukry and Bogdanov, meanwhile, talked about means to boosting political, economic, trade and agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
