(MENAFN) General Electric announced it is in talks to buy Milestone Aviation Group Ltd, as the US mega company looks to expand its aircraft-leasing operation into helicopters, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
If a deal was reached between the two companies, its worth is expected to be more than USD2.5 billion as Milestone is known to be the world's largest helicopter-leasing company by fleet value.
GE Capital, which previously said it is planning to extend its services, said this deal could help the company broaden its aviation services' portfolio beyond the competitive plane-leasing business, as it currently owns no helicopters.
