At Least55 Taliban killed in Afghan Operations


(MENAFN- QNA) At least 55 Taliban militants were killed following joint military operations conducted by Afghan national security, the Ministry of Interior said Sunday.

A statement released by the ministry said Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

The statement further added that operations were conducted in Parwan, Kunduz, Faryab, Jowzjan, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktika, Nangarhar and Helmand provinces, The ministry said at least 55 armed Taliban members were killed, 35 wounded and four others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Several local Taliban commanders are among the dead and Taliban suffered the heaviest casualty in Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak and Paktika provinces, the statement added.
