Works of 11 artists to be displayed on Oman Air flights


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Air in cooperation with the Omani Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) is showcasing the works of 11 local artists as part of its in-flight entertainment on seven international routes.

The Omani flying art exhibition 'Colours in the Sky' aims to take the Omani art to the world.  This will be the initiative's fifth and sixth collection. The third and fourth collections were exhibited in June while the first and second were showcased in December 2013.

Works of artists like Aliyah al Farsiyah Muna al Baytiyah Saleh al Alawi Sami al Ghawi Zahra al Ghatrifiyah Saif al Amri Hussian al Hajri Mohammed Fadhil Mazin al Maamari Khamis al Moharbi and Mohammed al Sayigh will be on display on flights operating to Paris Zurich Milan London Bangkok Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt.

The two collections comprising 43 paintings will also be exhibited in Paris in a bid to attract art professionals and enrich the Omani artists with their experience.

The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to each artist to travel the world and experience different cultures so as to broaden their horizon and understanding of art. 'Each artist has been allocated a destination to which he will pay a visit to see the museums and exhibitions and exchange expertise with artists there' said an official at OSFA. In addition a mini exhibition of these artists' works is also being held at the departure terminal of the Muscat International Airport.
