(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Winter vegetable markets in Umm Salal (Al Mazroua), Al Khor and Dakhira will open on December 4, Al Sharq reported.
The markets will offer fresh vegetables, fish and poultry from farms across the country at attractive prices. The new markets, the first of which was opened in Umm Salal two years ago under the name Al Mazroua, helps Qatari farmers sell their products directly to customers without intervention of middlemen.
The Ministry of Environment last year expanded the concept by opening similar markets in Al Khor and Dakhira. Preparations are in full swing to set up a new market in Al Wakra which is also expected to open in December, said the daily.
