Qatar- More rains, thunder likely today


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Some areas in the north are expected to witness rains today as well, the weather bureau said.

Rains will be accompanied by thunder at places.

Yesterday, several northern and southern areas in Qatar witnessed rains and some residents posted pictures on local social networking sites.

According to the forecast, humidity levels are expected to be between 45 and 90 percent today, with the day being partly cloudy and relatively hot.

The wind will be northwesterly, gradually changing to northeasterly with speed from five to 25 knots.

Visibility could be affected. Initially, it will be between four and eight kilometres, but is expected to drop to 3km in places receiving rains, accompanied by thunder.

The bureau said offshore weather would also be partly cloudy with chances of scattered rains. The deep sea could be a little choppy with waves jumping up to four to five feet.

Day temperatures are forecast up to 37 degrees C, while at night the mercury level will dip to 28.
