With the announcement that the international premiere of the SRK starrer Happy New Year will take place in Dubai on October 22 Bollywood fans in the region have a lot to look forward to. The iconic hotel is the setting of the grand climax of the Farah Khan directed heist drama and thus a fitting location to unveil the movie.
Post a successful US and London SLAM tour Shah Rukh Khan Deepika Padukone Boman Irani Abhishek Bachchan Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah are expected to jet into Dubai for the screening.
“I wrote the script of Happy New Year with Dubai in mind and the entire climax is shot around New Year’s Eve at Atlantis The Palm” says Farah.
The movie was shot extensivley in Dubai in conjunction with Dubai Department of Tourism and Commence Marketing and Dubai Film and Television Commission for almost a month in September 2013.
“Dubai is like home for me and I have loved every bit of my experience of shooting for Happy New Year here” Shah Rukh Khan said.
While Dubai will no doubt play an important part in the film as averred by Farah Khan Atlantis the scene of many star-studded events in the past is likely to come off as a major attraction in the film.
The hotel has planned a series of events themed around the movie to appeal to global Bollywood fans including a designated fan zone with memorabilia from the film special dining menus at Atlantis’ restaurants.
