Oman, India to discuss ways to boost bilateral trade


(MENAFN) Oman's Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced it is planning to hold meetings with its Indian counterpart to discuss ways to boost the commercial trades between the two countries, Times of Oman reported.

Last year, the bilateral trade reached USD5.7 billion, registering an increase compared with the previous year's trade, as well as investment flow, which also increased between the two countries in different sectors.

India, which has been trying to promote the country as a global manufacturing hub, is also very interested in boosting ties with Oman and the country is planning to present several investment opportunities to Omani businessmen during the meetings.

These investment opportunities will be mostly in support India's plan to improve both the industrial infrastructure and the urban infrastructure, including smart cities, and affordable housing projects in the country.
