Saudi's Investments in Sudan hit USD13b

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's investments in Sudan's Agriculture sector are expected to reach more than USD13 billion, after Sudan introduced new legislation to protect investors and attract more foreign funds, Saudi Gazette reported.

The growth in these investments is also attributed to the Saudi's King initiative to increase Saudi agricultural investment abroad as well as him encouraging the Kingdom's private sector to invest in farming operations abroad to help the kingdom in providing its growing needs of produce.

Sudan considers its agriculture sector to be vital for its Economy since the sector employs around 80 percent of the country's work force and accounts for nearly 40 percent of the country's gross domestic product.
