Taiwan's export growth slows in September


(MENAFN) According to Taiwan's statistics, the island's exports dipped in September from a three-year high a month earlier, dragged down by declines in plastic, rubber and mineral sectors, Xinhua reported.

The East Asian country exported USD26.43 billion worth of goods last month, increasing by 4.7 percent from a year earlier, while compared to August, it dropped by 5.9 percent.

Meanwhile, imports showed a marginal increase of 0.2 percent from the same period last year to USD22.93 billion, but marking a 4.4 percent decrease compared to August.

In the January-September period of 2014, Taiwan registered a trade surplus of USD26.35 billion, showing an increase of USD1.49 billion over the same period last year.
