Over 25 illegal slaughterhouses shut many butchers arrested
(MENAFN- Arab News) Riyadh Municipality has shut more than 25 slaughterhouses operating illegally since Eid Al-Adha despite the facilities provided by the municipality.
At least 23 individuals were arrested for running the illegal slaughterhouses.
The municipality had earmarked 17 sites for slaughterhouses complying with hygienic and safety standards before Eid for both Saudis and expats to perform the sacrifice.
Riyadh Municipality inspection team seized 23 undocumented workers operating these slaughter houses in various localities in the capital according to a source.
They were handed over to the concerned authority along with their slaughter tools like machetes and knives.
The raiding team also arrested 42 fireworks vendors at several places.
The field team carried out random checks targeting illegal expats in the Al-Batha and Shumaisi areas that resulted in the arrest of 22 vendors.
