Qatar- Katara events attract 122,550 people on second day of Eid

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Katara, one of the major tourist destinations in the country, continues to witness increase in the number of visitors enjoying its spectacular shows this Eid Al Adha festival.

On the second day of Eid Al Adha, Katara saw 122,550 visitors who were impressed by the shows presented for the first time in Qatar.

The story of the universe and the Big Bang show staged three times a night continues to remain the favourite of the crowds along with the fireworks display and Abu Salama play.

Hussein Al Qahtani, a tourist from Saudi Arabia, said he was impressed by the diversity of activities and entertainment programmes at Katara, in addition to the shows.

"I come to Katara frequently because of its good reputation in organising events and activities which are diverse. I shall be coming back in the coming days," said Munif Al Qahtani, another Saudi visitor.

Qatari Nasir Saeed said what makes celebrations at Katara excellent is the large gathering of families from all over the place.

"The festival becomes enjoyable through these large gatherings. That's why I visit Katara on occasions like this and during holidays," he said.

Mazen Matar from Bahrain echoed similar sentiments. "The presence of various nationalities - from GCC citizens to those from all over the Arab region - is something beautiful."

Praising the good organisation of the festival, he said he was given the Eid Al Adha programme when he entered Qatar which was a good thing as visitors would be guided to the destinations and venues of shows and activities.

Abu Lulwa from Oman was particularly impressed by the cultural district. "This is my first time here and I am impressed by the wonderful and unique architecture of Katara. This is really a tourist spot and I hope that I will enjoy the shows."
