Cyclone Star clinches breakthrough Team of the Week award
(MENAFN- Arab News) Cyclone Star edged ahead of the pack in a tight race for Team of the Week honors during the 9th sesssion in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
In winning its first Team of the Week award Cyclone Star totalled 24 points against the bye team for an automatic 20 match points and rank points of 4 for its total pinfalls of 2453.
Two teams namely league leader Taurus and Velocity Strikers tied on 22 points following victories against separate opponets with D' Luf's Strikers on 21.
Taurus brought down American Garden 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2563-2353 and rank points of 6 and 2 while Velocity was a decisive 14-6 winner over D' RJ's Cardinals on total pinfalls of 2716-2651 and rank points of 8 and 7 making them the two teams with the highest output in the session.
In the other match D' Luf's Strikers took down The Pinbusters 16-4 (2458-2393 5-3).
The individual battle for Bowler of the Week had Bash Langa winning on the men's side on 600 to complete a Cyclone Star double and Carms Lim of Velocity triumphing on the ladies division on 566.
The trio of Robert De Guzman Arman Gamboa and Fatima Jintarat complemented Langa's effort at Cyclone with three-game series of 490 450 and 401. Jude Vivero added 199-176 and Usman de Guzman had 134.
The triumvirate of Edwin Ronquillo Gil Catral and Jun Caisip struck hardest for Taurus on 580 527 and 521 in that order with Fedelyn Bustinera on 416 and Khalid Carlos Bustinera on 169.
In addition to Carms the others that helped build the Velocity's total were Vic Gonzales 540 skipper Toto Lim 532 Delia Javing 518 Jojo Esperanzate 177-181and Mar Valencia 155-170.
For D' Luf's the scorers were Alexander Duma 546 Carmen Duma 528 Tirso Bambalan 459 Cesar Pagtalunan 443 Sol Cuenca 152-124 and Danny Atubang 144.
