Pakistani CAs' role in KSA appreciated
(MENAFN- Arab News) Pakistani accountants came in for much praise for playing a constructive role in the Kingdom at a function in Jeddah recently.
Pakistan's Consul General Aftab A. Khokher appreciated their positive role and highlighted the various initiatives taken by Pakistan Embassy for the benefit of the community.
He was speaking at the third annual general meeting organized by the Saudi Arabian chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Muhammad Iqbal ICAP-KSA chapter's president spoke about the achievements of ICAP-KSA chapter including holding of 16 CPD events; the third annual Saudi-Pak symposium; family event and ICAP final exams in Riyadh. He thanked the Pakistan embassy and Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) for their continued support and patronage.
Iqbal specially mentioned about the 3rd Saudi-Pak accountancy symposium during which the Most Valued Contribution to the Profession (MVCP) Awards to acknowledge and appreciate the lifetime contributions of four selected names in various segments of finance. The awards were given to Dr. Umar Chapra for Islamic Economics Dr. Abdulrahman Alhumaid for IFRS Tariq Javed for Banking and Finance and Dr. Ahmad Almeghames for Accounting and Auditing.
The AGM was followed by a CPD session jointly organized with the PAF Jeddah which included a presentation on 'Creative and Logical Thinking' by Dr. Nadeem Bhatti who is a senior professional with vast experience in the field.
At the end of the presentation five senior chartered accountants Yakoob Haroon Moosani Suleman M. Hussain Nazwani Mohammad Ashraf Tumbi Akhtar Hameed Choudhry and Mohammed Sami were also honored by the ICAP-KSA chapter.
