Lenovo acquires USD1.84b X86 server from IBM


(MENAFN) Lenovo Group, the world's biggest personal computer maker, announced it has finished the acquisition of the X86 server hardware and related maintenance services business from IBM, Xinhua reported.

The Beijing-based PC maker said it paid USD1.847 billion in cash as well as giving 182 million Lenovo shares to IBM for the acquisition.

Lenovo has become the world's third largest manufacturer of X86 servers due to this acquisition, and the new business is expected to further enhance Lenovo's competitiveness in enterprise equipment and services.
