Qatar Stock Exchange Gains 72.35 Points


(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Stock Exchange index gained 72.35 points (+0.53%) ahead of Eid Al Adha holidays when the bourse closed trading at 13,830.90 points here Thursday.

The trading value increased to QR 615.899 Million from QR 613.628 Million registered Wednesday.

The trading volume declined to 8,794,303 shares from 4,440 transactions compared to 15,300,332 shares from 5,869 on Wednesday.

The market capitalization increased to QR 742.895 Billion from QR 738.511 registered Wednesday.

Indices of all sectors gained today, barring real estate (-0.68%) which continued its downward movement today when it closed at 2,813.26 points.

Banks and financial services index gained +1.13% to 3,496.59 points.

Insurance index was up +0.81% to 4,117.24 points while telecoms was up +0.53% to 1,670.68 points. Consumer goods and services gained +0.29% when it closed at 7,573.2 points.

From the 43 listed companies, shares of 42 saw trading today. From these 25 gained, 12 ended lower and five remained unchanged.

Qatar National Bank (QNB) led the gainers today with its share up QR 3.90 (+1.91%) when it closed at QR 207.90.

Qatar Electricity and Water Company gained QR 2.10 (+1.12%) when it closed at QR 190.10.

Prominent among losers was Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company whose share declined QR 2.45 (-5.06%) when it closed at QR 46.
