Qatar- Retaj eyes investments in Moldova


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Retaj is looking for opportunities to invest in real estate, tourism and hotels in Moldova, officials have said.

Dr Mohammed bin Johar Al Mohammed, the deputy board manager of Retaj Company met a delegation from the embassy of the republic of Moldova in Qatar.

The delegation was led by Ambassador Valeriu Tihonov and Consul Dinu Vataman and an economic consultant for the embassy. The meeting in Doha was aimed at showing the different investment opportunities available in Moldova and also establish co-operation between the private and public sector of the two countries.

The ambassador said that Moldova was one of the countries that have faced problems economically and politically in their history but despite all of these problems it had seized an opportunity in its geographical and beautiful green highlands, serene lakes that give it a wonderful scene and reef moguls. The ambassador showed some investment projects that they were suggesting for Retaj and were supplemented with economic studies of demand.

The ambassador also reiterated the commitment of the Moldova to make known the various investment opportunities available for Qatari citizens especially Retaj Company. The ambassador also showed the easy procedures offered to these investors by the government.

Dr Johar said that Retaj Company was expanding its investment projects especially outside of Qatar and that it is after the success they had received in the investments in Turkey, Comoros Island and Sudan and that it was at present seeking to expand such investments in other countries.

According to Hashem Al Awadi, the executive director of Retaj Real Estate Company, the company would send a delegation to Moldova to study the projects and they will be the first Qatar Company to invest in Moldova.
