SEC CelebratesWorld Teachers' Day


(MENAFN- QNA) Under the auspices of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al- Thani, the Supreme Education Council (ESC) celebrated World Teachers' Day under the theme "Messenger of Science: Thank. You." Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al-Hammadi, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Secretary General of the Supreme Education praised the great attention given by the State under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, to the education system in the country. HE the Minister also lauded the teachers' role and their performance and effort in educating and upbringing children .

   In this context, he said "We meet today to thank , praise and appreciate our loyal teachers for their performance and efforts towards this generous country." he added we are very pleased and happy to honor a group of teachers in Qatar in recognition of their great effort in educating and upbringing our children and upgrading their skills not only in disseminating knowledge and information, but also the noble values and ethics. He said they are working actively and in silence to upgrade the student's personality so as to bring up an honest and faithful generation scarifying their lives for their country, he added.

This event is held to honour those who have left their mark in the lives of thousands of students, said HE the Minister pointing out that they have spent three decades in education and their students have become leaders of this community.

He explained that the SEC has attracted best scientifically and ethically qualified teachers , noting that during this year the SEC will activate the professional conduct for employees at independent schools, after it has been adjusted so as to ensure justice and fairness to all parties of the educational process and to enhance the ultimate goal through the creation of a safe learning environment for all .

   Dr. Al Hammadi added that the SEC is working on raising the efficiency of the educational system through training of teachers , indicating this has been materialized by establishing a Center for Educational Development, which will provide unprecedented opportunities for personal and professional development for teachers and educators. It will begin its first training programs during this month, HE the Minister added.
