Germany Increases Aid for Syrian, Iraqi Refugees

(MENAFN- QNA) The German government has added 10 million euros (about 12.6 million U.S. dollars) to its humanitarian aid for refugees in Syria, Iraq and neighboring countries in the region, German Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday in a statement.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in the statement that the catastrophic situation of the people in Syria and Iraq had continued to worsen with the advance of the ISIS troops.

"We urgently need to take steps to ensure that the refugees can get through the coming winter," Steinmeier said, adding that Germany will continue to increase its aid for those in need. .
