Team Juthoor wins Injaz Oman's Sharikati contest


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Team Juthoor won the third edition of Injaz Oman's Sharikati contest which concluded on Monday. It was awarded the 'Best Company of the Year 2014' and received RO5000 as cash prize.

Team Juthoor will represent Oman at the Injaz Arab regional competition in Kuwait to be held in December this year.

The award for the 'Most Innovative Product' was given to the student company Directions and Nexfute was declared winner in 'Best Marketing Plan' category.

Both companies won RO1000 each.

The award ceremony was held under the auspices of H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi Minister of Transport and Communications at the Sultan Qaboos University Cultural Centre.

Juthoor comprised 18 students from different specialisations of the Higher College of Technology.

The company won the award for coming up with a sustainable and environment-friendly method of creating compost. 'We developed a medium that works towards creating an alternative to soil by recycling agricultural residue instead of burning it.

'We will use the prize money as capital for taking our idea forward. Winning this competition justifies our efforts and hard work as a team over the past few months' said Al Mutassim Said al Harasi executive director Team Juthoor.

Speaking on the occasion Shabib al Maamari executive director of Injaz Oman said 'We hope that the participating team members have learnt from this experience and that they will use the skills they have gained in finding jobs or pursuing their dream projects. 'For participating students this is only the beginning.'
