S. Korea posts exports increase in September

(MENAFN) South Korea's exports grew compared to a year ago in September, with imports growing at slightly faster pace, QNA reported.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy showed that the country outbound shipments hit USD47.69 billion last month, an increase of 6.8 percent compared to the same month in 2013, while imports grew 8 percent on-year to reach USD44.33 billion.

The country's trade surplus hits USD3.36 billion, September marked the 32nd straight month the country has posted a trade surplus, local media reported.

The growth in imports marks a recovery from a 0.1 percent on-year decrease in the previous month. The increase was partly due to growing demands in the United States and China.
