Search for Japanese Volcano Victims Suspended due to Bad Weather

(MENAFN- QNA) Bad weather and volcanic earthquakes hampered rescue workers' efforts Tuesday to look for survivors and retrieve bodies at Mt. Ontake in central Japan after the deadly weekend eruption that has claimed dozens of victims.

An official of the Japan Meteorological Agency warned that volcanic activity is intensifying to some extent, Japan's News (Kyodo) reported.

"Volcanic tremors are becoming bigger since early morning and its intensity is almost the same as that observed on Saturday night," the official said after holding a meeting to map out measures to deal with the eruption.
