Roadside Bomb Explosion Kills 6 Afghan Soldiers


(MENAFN- QNA) At least six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were martyred following roadside bomb explosion, defense officials said Tuesday.

The exact location of the incident where the six Afghan army soldiers were martyred was not disclosed, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

The Afghan Defense ministry spokesman Gen. Zahir Azimi said the soldiers were martyred in the past 24 hours following improvised explosive device (IED) attack.

Gen. Azimi further added that 15 militants were also killed and a number of others were injured during the military operations in the past 48 hours.

He said Afghan soldiers also discovered and seized 48 rounds of improvised explosive device (IED) along with some weapons and ammunition during the operations.

According to Gen. Azimi, the Afghan national security forces led by the Afghan national army are currently engaged in 19 military operations in 11 provinces of the country.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
