Tokyo Stocks Drop on Tuesday


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tokyo September 30 (QNA) - Tokyo stocks dropped Tuesday morning as investor sentiment was cooled by prodemocracy protests in Hong Kong and worse-than-expected Japanese economic data released just before the opening.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 239.74 points or 1.47% from Monday to 16070.09.according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.



The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 21.23 points or 1.59% at 1316.07.

Decliners were led by trading companies brokerage and consumer finance issues. (QNA)
