Thailand's exports decreased 7.4 percent in August

(MENAFN) Thailand exports reduced 7.4 percent to reach USD18.94 billion in August, the lowest in 32 months due to the lack of recovery in the global economy and lower than expected demand, QNA reported.

The country's Commerce Ministry attributed the decline in exports to lower prices of many farm corps and a drop in the shipments of gold and fuel.

It added that the exports in the January-August period of 2014 slightly decreased 1.36 percent annually to USD150 billion.

The ministry believes that exports would definitely miss the projection of 3.5 percent growth for the full year. Instead, the exports were expected to grow by only 0.5-1.0 percent for the whole year.
