
Oman Air names new manager for sultanate
Harthy is a science graduate of Sultan Qaboos University and has developed his career as an aviation professional since joining Oman Air as a management trainee in 2002. He was then appointed to the role of sales executive in Muscat before being promoted to district sales manager in Saudi Arabia followed by Oman and finally rising to country manager in India. His appointment to country manager in Oman sees him taking up one of the most prestigious roles of its kind within the national carrier.
Welcoming Harthy to his new position Oman Air's chief operating officer Abdulrahaman al Busaidy said 'We are delighted to have appointed Hamad Mohammed al Harthy to the role of country manager for Oman where his undoubted experience and expertise will prove invaluable as Oman Air enters its next phase of ambitious expansion.
'Harthy will have responsibility for increasing sales in Oman at a time when Oman Air is poised to expand its international network of destinations facilitated by the arrival from later this year of the 24 new aircraft we currently have on order' Busaidy added.
