Beeah Proudly Receives the Prestigious "GCC Best Employer Brand Award"

(MENAFNEditorial) Bee'ah, the Middle East's leading and award-winning fully integrated environmental and waste management company, has been awarded the "GCC Best Employer Brand Award" in recognition of its efforts and commitment to employee development. The award was received by Sami Mohammed Handley – HR Director at Bee'ah, during a glittering ceremony on September 24th, 2014. The award comes as recognition of Bee'ah's ongoing efforts invested in developing its staff and positioning the Emirate of Sharjah as an outstanding example of nurturing talents in the region.

The Employer Branding Institute - an internationally respected organisation that connects senior leaders in HR with each other, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices globally - awarded companies that exercise best practices in Human Resources (HR) and contributed to talent management and personnel career growth.

Commenting on the award, Bee'ah's Group CEO Khaled Al Huraimel said: "We are delighted that our continuous programmes and activities towards employee development have been recognised by the Employer Branding Institute. Enhancing the skills and performance of our staff in order to create a sustainable working environment has always been a key priority for the company and an integral part of our strategy as work to become the leading employer of choice in the UAE."

Al Huraimel added: "Employee-development focused initiatives have always been at the forefront of our internal priorities at Bee'ah, thus creating green jobs in line with the UAE's vision for environmental and economic sustainability and in an effort for Sharjah to be recognized as the Environmental Capital of the Middle East." In 2013, Bee'ah launched 'Imtiyaz', a programme created to enhance its employees' executive performance and with the aim of becoming a leading employer of choice in the UAE. The programme has seen more than 40 employees – including new recruits as well as executive and operations teams across all departments – develop their managerial and organizational skills, in addition to financial, customer relationship, brand and project management, and communications abilities.

Furthermore, Bee'ah, in partnership with Sharjah Tatweer Forum, took the lead to develop and launch the first Sharjah Leadership Programme that aims at training and empowering managerial level UAE nationals across industries in the Emirate to prepare them to become the future leaders of Sharjah, who would bear the responsibility for carrying through Sharjah's development strategy and plans. The Sharjah Leadership Program is held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and the Honorary Chairman of Sharjah Tatweer Forum and is a joint partnership between Sharjah Tatweer Forum and Bee'ah, and is delivered in cooperation of the American University in Sharjah as the Academic Partner of the program.

Throughout the years, the Employer Branding Institute has meticulously researched the best employers in criteria such as creating a culture of contribution and innovation at work; believing in consistent improvement in HR policy by measuring organisational health and instilling values that help in achieving that vision; being a social and equal opportunity employer; and developing and nurturing future leaders. Close to 280 senior leaders attended the awards ceremony besides officials from different countries.
