Kuwaiti investment in Jordan hits USD10b


(MENAFN) Kuwaiti and Jordanian commercial ties have been showing signs of strong development due to both countries wanting to strengthen these ties further and to boost the bilateral trade, KUNA reported.

Currently, there are 61 Kuwaiti partners registered in the Amman Chamber of Commerce with a capital of USD 134 million, with the total of Kuwaiti investments in Jordan reaching USD 10 billion in tourism, industry, telecommunications, banks and the health sector.

During the same period, the total of Jordan's exports to Kuwait reached USD 72.4 million, while imports from Kuwait reached USD 114.6 million.

Meanwhile, the number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Jordan in the January-June period of 2014 reached 42.518, increasing by 26 percent compared to the same period last year.
