No one will be allowed to take law into own hands says Pak minister


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said the government has no objection to the protests as it is a legitimate right of political parties.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that staging protests and sit-ins is the beauty of a democratic system but no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands at any cost state media reported on Sunday.



In an interview he said the government has no objection to the protests as it is a legitimate right of political parties.



Pervaiz Rashid said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz believes in promoting democratic norms in the country.



He said that PTI activists attacked the Parliament House Pak Secretariat Prime Minister’s House and Pakistan Television buildings which was a sheer violation of the law.



Replying to a question he said that Islamabad police were unarmed and were only provided rubber bullets. He also rejected the allegations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf that live bullets were used to disperse protesters.



The minister said the government made serious and sincere efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue and announced a judicial commission comprising Supreme Court judges to look into election rigging allegations besides it set up a parliamentary electoral reforms committee to bring improvement in the existing election system.
