HE Sheikh Joaan Inspects Work Progress at Qatar 2015 Facilities


(MENAFN- QNA) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Chairman of Organizing Committee of 2015 Men's Handball World Championship, made an inspection visit today to the sport facilities of the upcoming 24th 2015 Men's Handball World Championships to be held in Doha.

During the visit, he inspected the work progress at Qatar 2015 facilities including Al Sadd Sports Hall, which can accommodate 7,700 spectators. This hall can host Handball, Volleyball, Badminton and Gymnastics ground. It is designed to be transformed into an ice hockey ring which fulfills the standards of the IHF. Lusail Multipurpose Hall with a capacity of 15,300 spectators. It is designed to provide convenient space and facilities for sport fans.

HE Sheikh Joaan expressed hope that these facilities would be ideal places to host the next Men's Handball World Championships and other games.

He met with heads of the committees and bodies responsible for ensuring that the work is progressing according to the pre-planned schedule.

The committees reviewed work progress in training rooms and facilities for players and VIP areas and lounges. These facilities will play a key role in the training and development of the national teams by encouraging more young people to participate in sport and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
