RCJY signs deals for residential projects


(MENAFN- Arab News) The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) has signed five contracts that aim to establish residential projects academic buildings facilities for the city center and operating and maintaining the Technical Institute.

Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan Al-Saud chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu signed the contracts with several companies.

The first contract aims to establish residential buildings (Phase I) while the second contract concerns establishing an academic building for female students. The third contract was signed for engineering services for the expansion of Jubail Industrial City. The fourth contract aims to establish facilities for the city center while the fifth contract is focused on operation and maintenance projects of Jubail Technical Institute.

Azmeel Contracting and Construction Corporation won the first contract that has 208 weeks period to be implemented. According to the contract Azmeel will establish a campus for students that will accommodate 18000 students in addition to 18000 from faculty and support services staff.

The scope of the second contract that was signed with Manazl Real Estate Development which has 182 weeks till completion includes constructing academic buildings for female students that can accommodate up to 18000 students and 1500 faculty members and services staff members.

The contract also includes excavation work back-filling paving road work parking lots rainwater and floods drainage network electricity street lighting drinking water network irrigation water (treated sewage water distribution network) firefighting water cooling water and gardening and landscaping.

It covers as well telecommunication network cable TV system and 6 buildings that include civil engineering building computer science building business management building general studies building English language building and science building.

Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Naim Consultant Engineers Company in cooperation with AK Consulting Engineers won the third contract. The contract has a five-year duration and concerns engineering services projects for the expansion of Jubail Industrial City. It includes designing public buildings facilities including basic preparations of the sites related to Jubail Industrial City.

The fourth contract has gone to Al-Kifah Holding Company that has 130 weeks for completion. The contract focuses on establishing facilities for the city center to supply and construct off-site establishments at the city center.

It includes working on all the activities and businesses that affect and contribute to the operation and servicing the city center and its surrounding areas such as off-site transportation businesses drinking water tanks and pumping station in the buffer zone irrigation water tanks and their pumping station telecommunication building and IPTV cable system via the Internet.

Arabia Supply and Architectural Contracting Company (ASACCO) won the fifth contract that has 5 years implementation period. The scope of its work includes operating and maintaining Jubail Technical Institute.
