Riyadh Blues Gujranwala Shaheen excel in RCL Power Zone T20 Cup

(MENAFN- Arab News) RIYADH: Gujranwala scored a thrilling two-run win over JAMIAA during the second week of the Power Zone Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by Riyadh Cricket League here.

Gujranwala made first use of the pitch and put up 149 runs. The in form Waqar top-scored with 55 runs. Bilal supported him with 22. Moeen bowled well and took 3 wickets while Imran and Ishfaq shared 4 wickets.

In reply JAMIAA fell short and were bowled out for 147. Ijaz was the highest scorer with 51 runs followed by Moin 26 and Zabiullah 25.

Man-of-the-Match: Waqar Riyadh

Blues won their match against Sager by 55 runs. Riyadh Blues batted first made 237 runs. Thanks to centuries by Shakeel (103) and Abu Sufiyan (101) who were involved in a record 212-run partnership for first wicket. Naved took 3 wickets.

Sager in reply failed to reach the target and were all out for 182 runs. Zia ur Rahman (24) Hilal (26) and Asad (45) were the main run getters. Abdul Saeed did most of the damage and took 5 wickets while Faiaz took 2.

Man-of-the-Match: Shakeel.

Shaheen Strikers got the better of Detecon Rising Stars by 4 wickets. Detecon Rising Stars made 175 runs. Tahir Khan (83) and Umar (23) did most of the scoring. Amir bowled well and claimed 3 wickets. Shahzad Kashif and Imran Arif took 2 each. Shaheen Strikers achieved the total off 17.1 overs. Shahzad played well and scored 51 runs. He was supported by Noshad's 22. In the middle order Hamza made 40 and Aftab 26 runs. Tahir Khan and Ahmad took 2 wickets each.

Sagar won their match against Diamond by 56 runs. Sagar scored 171 runs. Hilal played well and made 56 runs. Wajid (38) and Qader (25) were the other scorers. Ibrahim Shafiq Ijaz and Amir took 2 wickets each.

In reply Diamon failed to reach the target and managed 115 runs. Shafi scored 35 runs and Waseem 27.

Man-of-the-Match: Hilal.

Mughal eased past National by 5 wickets. National made 200 runs in their allocated overs. Abdul Samad was in good form and scored 86 runs with the help of 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. Ijaz (35) Salman (16) and Fahim (24) were the other scorers. Qasim bowled well and claimed 3 wickets. Waseem and Sajjad took 2 each.

In reply Mughal got to their target after 17 overs. Sajjad Shah to-scored with 63 runs. He was supported by Imran's 45. Mujahid (43) and Zahid (25) got the other runs. Azeem and Fahim took 2 wickets each.

Black Caps won their match against Pak CC by 63 runs. Black Caps made 195 runs after they batted first. Dinesen and Mukeem played well and made 40 runs each. The other run getters were Mudassar (38) Sana Ullah (18) and Ahmer (11). Raheel Asad Waseem Qadar and Malik took a wicket each.

Pak failed to get the total and were bowled out for 132 runs. Asad was the only batsman who tried to make a fight of it and scored 58 runs. No other batsmen could face Black Caps bowlers and got out cheaply. Zeeshan bowled well and took 5 wickets Wasi took 2.

OSN Warriors got the better of Cricket Samarwa by 6 wickets. Samarwa collapsed for 88 runs. Tasadduk (19) and Mohammed (12) did their best. Nishad took 3 wickets and Rafee claimed 2.

OSN Warriors achieved the total off 11 overs. Taher made 29 and Faizaan 21. Aasif Sheikh took 2 wickets.

Pure Health won their match against Riyadh Pirate by 7 wickets. Riyadh Pirates made 149 runs. Tahir (41) Nadeem (33) and Yasir (23) were among the runs. Amir and Ibrahim claimed 3 wickets each.

In reply Pure Health achieved the target off 16 overs. Waseem was the highest scorer with 95 runs. Hasan Ahmed made 28 and Tarez Kardi 18 runs. Suhal took 2 wickets.
