Obama, Turkish Pres. discuss efforts to counter ISIL


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) President Barack Obama spoke briefly Friday with Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan from Air Force One, discussing with him measures to counter the threat posed by Islamic State in Iraqi and the Levant (ISIL).

The President praised the work of the Turkish authorities, local groups, and the UN in handling the massive influx of refugees flowing into Turkey, including tens of thousands this week alone. The two Presidents agreed to continue to consult closely.
