(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon reassured Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the UN's support for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and encouraged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to the ceasefire negotiations.
This came during his meeting on the sidelines of the 69th General Assembly session.
The officials discussed the situation in Gaza and the upcoming Cairo conference on Palestine as well as the progress made during the ongoing intra-Palestinian talks in Cairo.
They also discussed President Abbas' diplomatic initiative and the future of the Middle East peace process.
