Wearing an Andrew GN separates with black and tan sandals for the Dubai leg of the promotions of Haider Shraddha Kapoor proved why she is one of Bollywood’s emerging fashionistas. The actress was in town on Tuesday evening with Shahid Kapoor to promote their latest flick Haider directed by Vishal Bharadwaj that releases in the UAE next weekend.

Shahid even enacted a popular scene from the film by putting a noose around his neck and saying “Hello Hello Aawaaz aa rahi hai aap logoen ko (Can you hear my voice)”.

The 33 year old actor enacts the role of Hamlet in Haider. The Shakespearean tragedy famously referred to as the Mona Lisa of literature by T.S.Elliot since it has been reinterpreted to death tells a story that resonates to this day.

But Shahid considers Hamlet the role of his lifetime. “My father (Pankaj Kapoor) told me when I was very young that you will become a hero and do films but once you play Hamlet only then will you realise the complications of being an actor. This thought has been stuck in my mind since long and when the opportunity came I jumped at it. I think Haider (the character) is very vulnerable real emotional and righteous. He loves both his father and mother a lot. It was amazing to see this character through Vishal’s (Bharadwaj) eye.”

Shraddha reprises the character of Ophelia in the drama. The actress revealed that Vishal has added more layers to her character in the film as compared to the legendary play. “Listening to everything that Vishal told me to do was my reference point to prepare for the role of Arshiya. I kept my mind open. I hope that comes across on screen and people feel that my portrayal of Arshiya looks authentic.” artikhaleejtimes.com
