Saudi sends Egypt USD5b in oil products


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia sent Egypt refined oil products worth around USD3 billion, in the April-September period, while the total value of Saudi's oil aid to Egypt since July 2013 till this September amounted to UD5 billion, Gulf Daily News reported.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE have said that they will aid Egypt with oil products worth USD12 billion, providing the country's ailing economy with a much needed support, however these petroleum aid has not been able to ease Egypt's frequent power cuts.

Meanwhile, Egypt announced that it started repaying some of its debt to foreign energy companies, which have reached around USD6 billion, as they attempt to fight the energy crisis and encourage new investments in the country.
