Blunt and Perri to play the Dubai jazz fest

James Blunt and Christina Perri are the first acts announced for the 13th Dubai International Jazz Festival taking place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre from February 25 to 27 next year.



Singer-songwriter Blunt 40 will headline the opening night alongside Perri. The former British Army officer became an international star with the release of his debut album Back to Bedlam in October 2004.



The record contained his signature song the aforementioned You’re Beautiful as well as pop-rock hits Wisemen High and Goodbye My Lover.



It went on to become the UK’s biggest selling album of the decade with more than three million copies shifted beating Dido’s No Angel (2000) into second spot.



Blunt who last performed at the Dubai jazz fest in 2012 went on to have hits including 1973 Bonfire Heart and Carry You Home.



Philadelphia native Christina Perri meanwhile has two US top five albums under her belt Lovestrong (2011) and Head or Heart (2014).



She rose to fame after her ballad Jar of Hearts was featured on the TV show So You Think You Can Dance in 2010 with the track going on to sell 3.8 million copies in the States.



The 28-year-old has also had chart success with two songs from Twilight soundtracks - A Thousand Years (Part I and II) - and her recent radio-friendly weepie Human.
