Japan N. Korea to Hold Talks on Abduction Issue


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) New York September 25 (QNA) - Japan and North Korea will hold talks next week in China on Pyongyang's reinvestigation of its abductions of Japanese nationals Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said.

Kishida told reporters in New York that Junichi Ihara head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau and Song Il Ho North Korea's ambassador for negotiations to normalize bilateral relations will meet Monday in Shenyang according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.

At the meeting Ihara will ask Song to explain in detail why North Korea has failed to release a first report on its promised reinvestigation of the whereabouts of people abducted decades ago Kishida said. (QNA)
