Israeli Clamp Down on Jerusalem for New Year Holidays


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Jerusalem September 25 (QNA) - Israeli forces imposed tight security in Jerusalem which will be enforced until Friday evening as the two-day Jewish New Year holiday Rosh Hashana.

Palestinian media reports said Israeli force put Jerusalem and West Bank on high alert and deployed hundreds of security personnel. They erected barricades and checkpoints on various roads to detain vehicles and check identity cards of Palestinians.

Security forces closed crossing and military checkpoints on the main entrances to the city of Jerusalem around Palestine's 1948 territories for the duration of the new year holidays. (QNA)
