(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ministry of Interior has arrested five Asians involved in the production, packing and sale of harmful 'sweika'.
As many as 6,219 packs of sweika were also seized.The arrest came in the wake of the department receiving information about the production and packing of 'sweika' at one of the houses in Doha. The suspects were monitored to ensure reliability of the information. As a result, the house was raided and suspects were arrested. The arrested were referred to the Search and Follow up Department for further legal procedures.
The CID has urged citizens and residents to co-operate with the security agencies of Ministry of Interior, by reporting any person suspected of producing and dealing with sweika as it threatens human health. It can be reported to Operations Room by calling 999 or to CID at 2347444.
