Celeb Whispers: The latest Bollywood gossip

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Arti Dani brings you the latest gossip from Bollywood Sonam to play politician

Word of mouth is helping Sonam Kapoor’s Khoobsurat in maintaining a steady rise at the box office. We never thought that we will say this but Sonam has an interesting mix of movies lined up in her kitty. We hear that she might take a bold step forward with her next project where she will play the role of a politician. Apparently the actress has bought the rights of a book called Battle For Bittora which is a love story between two aspiring politicians from opposing parties. Apart from this she is working on Dolly Ki Doli and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo. Misplaced priorities Remember how Bollywood actors were pouring buckets full of ice water over themselves to donate money for ALS research It is surprising that these ‘kind’ people are nowhere to be seen when it comes to supporting the victims of a crisis back home (the Jammu and Kashmir floods). While these actors contributed generously to ALS when it came to the tragedy back home they responded by writing prayers on Twitter. Apart from a handful of celebrities like Shahid Kapoor Shraddha Kapoor and Dia Mirza we have not heard much from about actors pledging financial support for the flood victims. Candy boys The latest entrant to Bollywood Fawad Khan is being called an ‘eye candy who can really act.’ It is surprising that in a film featuring Bollywood’s resident fashion diva Sonam Kapoor it was Fawad who grabbed eyeballs though the former had the meatier role. Who would have thought Bollywood would progress to the extent that male actors show up only to take up a romantic side plot while the actresses walk away with the plum roles. If you have any doubts just take a look at some of these films from 2014 where the male actors were either eye candy or a romantic squeeze; Ali Fazal (Bobby Jasoos) Imran Abbas Naqvi (Creature 3D) Darshan Kumar (Mary Kom). Looks like Bollywood is undergoing a role reversal of sorts. Was Salman clueless or plain rude

Salman Khan recently made an appearance at a song launch of Tamanchey starring Nikhil Dwivedi and Richa Chaddha. The actor came and sounded clueless about his presence at the event. He even took a jibe by saying that Shah Rukh Khan who was a former mentor to Dwivedi should rather have been present at the song launch. The man who is known to mentor young talents came across as rude at an important occasion in the lives of these two actors who are trying to find their foothold in the industry. Keep calm and let go

All eyes were set on the comeback of this beauty queen. One of her mentors from her advertising days was almost finalised to direct her in his debut film. Her husband and father-in-law were also approached for the same film but the over-excited producer went ahead and made an official announcement on the same. This upset this ‘royal’ family of Bollywood. Now the actress is making her comeback with another director. The producer is also upset with her husband who keeps changing his mind all the time but he is scared to confront him as he desperately needs the father-in-law as a narrator in the movie. Though he is unhappy with the uptight family for the sake of his film he is maintaining his cool.
