(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The court was furnished with electronic evidence against the 15 men accused of joining and funding terrorist organisations Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham Brigade.The Federal Supreme Court on Tuesday conducted an evidentiary hearing in the terror cell suspects case in which the court was furnished with electronic evidence against the 15 men accused of joining and funding terrorist organisations Al Nusra Front and Ahrar Al Sham Brigade. Evidence included mobile phones and computers reportedly belonging to the accused containing files and images.
Presiding Judge Mohammed Al Jarrah Al Tinaiji adjourned the hearing to September 28 when the defence lawyers will present their witnesses.
Eleven of the 15 accused appeared before the court today. Meanwhile the court also heard the case of a man whose father was convicted in the case of a dissolved secret cell by virtue of the sentence issued by the Federal Supreme Court. The son was charged with joining the secret cell and designing and running a website on social networks with the aim of publishing inaccurate satirical and defaming ideas and information that are harmful to the structure of State institutions.
He was also accused of contacting foreign organisations and presenting inaccurate information regarding the trial of the secret cell and living conditions inside the jail. The hearing was adjourned to October 14.
