GM to open Cadillac headquarter in NY by 2015

(MENAFN) US automaker giant General Motors Co said it is set to open a Cadillac brand headquarter in New York in 2015, aiming to broaden its appeal outside North America, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Cadillac spokesman said the automobile expects the new headquarter in Manhattan to open in the second quarter of 2015. GM said the move is to establish the brand as a separate unit.

Caldwell said the move would only affect sales and marketing, while product development, design, engineering and research and development staff would remain in place, mostly in the Detroit area.

"With the relentless upward repositioning of successive new-generation Cadillac products, the next logical step is to provide Cadillac more freedom to cultivate the brand in pursuit of further global growth," GM President said.
